Even if you haven’t been to CÉ LA VI in Singapore, chances are, you would have spotted the glitzy rooftop bar and restaurant in the recent blockbuster Crazy Rich Asians. The Marina Bay Sands hotspot played host to Nick Young (Henry Golding) and Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) who lit up the night, set to a backdrop of synchronised swimmers (Trivia: they are part of Singapore's national synchronised swimming team) in the 150m-long Infinity Pool perched on the 57th floor.
Now, Malaysians can get a taste of the brand’s culinary and mixology experiences as an outpost of the award-winning bar recently opened on Level 37 Sky Terrace at Ilham Tower, Jalan Binjai. The multi-faceted, 1,150 sq m space offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the KL skyline and the Petronas Twin Towers.
Echoing similar aesthetics and brand ethos as the Singaporean institution, CÉ LA VI KL will be serving Modern Asian cuisine and playful cocktails that pay homage to local ingredients. Enjoy them in the comfort of the bar’s private rooms and al-fresco seating; the indoor as well as outdoor CÉ LA VI lounge and its exclusive cigar room. CÉ LA VI Singapore was listed #67 in DJMag’s Top 100 Clubs of 2016 so expect the KL offshoot, equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology and sound system, to feature world-class entertainment and an exciting line-up consisting of local and international DJs as well.
CÉ LA VI KL is a partnership between restaurateur and entrepreneur Cavaliere Modesto Marini (founder of The Marini’s Group) and L Catterton Asia, which owns the CÉ LA VI brand.
CÉ LA VI, which has locations in Hong Kong and Sri Lanka, will be extending its brand presence to Dubai, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo.
Chairman and managing partner of L Catterton Asia Ravi Thakran is excited about CÉ LA VI’s upcoming expansion, “We’re in discussion with major players in Shanghai and Chongqing. Chongqing is building a phenomenal project which almost looks like Gotham City, with five buildings and a major rooftop location.”
