Pisco Movie Night: I’m Gilda
I’m Gilda is a 2016 Argentine biographical drama film about the life and death of tropical singer-songwriter Gilda. Starring Natalia Oreiro, the movie follows the private and little known life of Miriam Alejandra Bianchi, who became an idol under the iconic name. At the peak of her career, the popular singer died tragically at 36 in a car accident. This movie is about a woman’s arduous journey to achieve her dreams few dare to venture on.

Matt Davis back in Kuala Lumpur
American stand-up comedian Matt Davis returns to Kuala Lumpur for two preview shows before heading to the Fringe World Festival in Perth, Australia. The world-class comedian’s jokes about language, nationality and current global affairs have always left the audience roaring with laughter. Humour comes easy to Davis and it is no wonder he is often hand-picked by prestigious, global comedy art festivals, including the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal, Sketch Fest in San Francisco and Top of the World Comedy Festival in Nepal.

Twenty-year-old multidisciplinary artist Alya Hatta’s second solo exhibition explores the bittersweet ups and downs of entering adulthood and key moments in life that have shaped her practice and as an individual. Formatted as a self-confessional discography, the artworks explore a roster of emotions, including joy, sadness, anger and love. Through her most intimate and vulnerable body of work, the artist hopes to not only reflect on herself and the human condition but also to connect with others who share similar experiences.
