Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur is hosting an afternoon tea by Anya Hindmarch at Lounge on the Park from April 2 to May 15, in conjunction with the fashion brand’s Spring Summer 2018 collection, ‘Absurbia’, which looks for the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Inspired by the brand that celebrates joy in everyday life, executive pastry chef Antony Hoyle from Mandarin Oriental KL has fashioned a cheerful afternoon tea set after the new ‘Chubby Collection’. Made with soft quilted Nappa Leather, the hand-stitched collection features squishable, lightweight bags and quirky accessories that include a chubby cloud charm and a giant chubby wink charm.
As for the tea, dainty treats are laid out on a tiered pastry stand. We suggest you start with the savoury delights such as the smoked salmon, lemon chieve and baby asparagus, as well as the blue swimmer crab meat with vegetable tartar and tomato consommé jelly before moving on to the sweets. The dessert department consists of scones, cutesy mini cupcakes topped with a fondant rainbow, meringues, caramel lollipop, mousse shaped like cherries and glazed alphabet donuts (only the ‘A’ and ‘H’, natually). Quirky signature icons like the smiley and fried egg also make an appearance, thus completing the Anya Hindmarch experience.
Afternoon Tea by Anya Hindmarch is available daily until May 15 for RM148 per person with one hot beverage and RM198 per person with a mini bottle of Moët.
