This December 10, Options will take Balance Sheet, our weekly column on feel-good stories about people and organisations that enrich and empower communities, a step further with the Balance Sheet Bazaar. The bazaar gives social social enterprises, NGOs and charitable organisations a chance to promote their products and services at Plaza Arkadia, Desa Park City, Kuala Lumpur, from 11am to 6pm this Sunday.
Pick up a handicraft or an accessory from Helping Hands Penan, UmieAktif, Sze Women of Hope by Pearly Wong, Sereni & Shentel, Fugee School and AirAsia Foundation and give back to those organisations. You can gift delicious food items from Picha Project, Autism Café Project and Project B, or baked goodies from Kelvin's Cookies, Bake with Dignity. Dig into the pile at Recyclothes and you will find choice bargains, many of which are brand new.
You can also get a haircut by Cut x Dignity academy, or adopt a pet at the SPCA booth or enrol for the Dr Dog Programme. Activities for young visitors include clown appearance, book reading and balloon art. There will also be giveaways from L'Oreal Malaysia, F&N Seasons, Piccoli Lotti, Tealive and The Body Shop.
Also look out for the World Vision Malaysia booth where you can sign up to sponsor a child or purchase 'Gifts of Hope' to provide children with school meals, clean water and education.
Funds raised from the Balance Sheet Bazaar will benefit the less privileged, under-served and disenfranchised communities, including refugees and children. With the festive season just around the corner, what better way to shop for a gift while contributing to a good cause at the same time?
