Lounge on the Park at Mandarin Oriental KL is presenting an array of afternoon tea delights that are bound to be a feast for the senses. A beautifully crafted selection of pastries, mini sandwiches and scones make up the decadent afternoon tea, inspired by American fashion brand Kate Spade New York.
Playing with elements of red poppies, dark cherries and leopard prints, the end result is an interpretation of Kate Spade New York’s fall 2017 collection of Paris in the 1920s by the hotel’s award-winning executive pastry chef, Anthony Hoyle, and his team. The almost too-pretty-to-eat desserts include the red velvet cake with poppy patterns, leopard-print-adorned chocolate mille-feuille and vanilla éclair. The season’s collection is a tribute to heroines who defy expectations. Inspiration has been drawn from three original rule-breakers: Louise Brooks, the quintessential flapper; Le Coquelicot (or poppy in French), a mysterious and bold local beauty painted by Kees van Dongen; and Josephine Baker, an American who followed her dreams to Paris and became a global Jazz Age icon.
The afternoon tea set is available until Nov 19 (2.30pm to 6pm) and priced at RM148 (inclusive of one hot beverage) and RM198 (inclusive of one bottle of mini champagne) per set. Reservations can be made via phone at (03) 2330 8797 or email to [email protected].
