Celebrating extraordinary craftsmanship and creative excellence, Hennessy unveils its most recent collaboration with French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel, a synergy of fine art and luxury spirits that has birthed the Hennessy XO Masterpiece and Hennessy XO Limited Edition. Known for his architectural hand-blown glass works, Othoniel’s fascination with light and reflection — combined with the maison’s long history of tradition and innovation — manifests in these two delicately faceted carafes of the exceptional cognac, which he explains are “each a testament to the power of reimagining familiar objects with new meaning and beauty”.
The Hennessy XO Masterpiece, fully baring the intense colour of the amber ichor, features a Baccarat crystal decanter shaped with complex, bevelled cuts. Encasing the creation is hand-carved oak wood reminiscent of the brand’s barrels. A similarly inspired yet characteristically distinct sister to the Masterpiece is the Hennessy XO Limited Edition. Playing on the gold metallic finish of its angled exterior, the logo appears on a sumptuous ruby-like gemstone, seated comfortably in the heart of the bottle. The special opening feature further allows for the internal bottle to be replaced or refilled.
“By seamlessly blending traditional techniques with contemporary artistic vision, these collaborations infuse our products with fresh perspectives and unique interpretation,” notes Nausicaa Charrier, marketing director of Moët Hennessy Malaysia and Singapore, adding that this joint project is “a compelling choice for those seeking luxury and artistic sophistication in Malaysia”.
Collectors and enthusiasts can view the collection at the Crafted, by Hennessy exhibition taking place on Oct 25 at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur.
