Not all SUVs are created equal, and truly, none can quite come close to Porsche’s version of this five-seater vehicle – the Cayenne. Sime Darby Auto Performance launched the 2018 version of the Cayenne today, and here are five cool things to know about this ultra-sexy car.
1. Refined design with enhanced performance
This is the third generation Cayenne – the first was released in 2002, the second in 2010 (this included hybrid and plug-in hybrid models) and 2018 marks the third. With these new models, expect a refined design, improved driving dynamics and comfort as well as enhanced performance.
2. There are two variants
The car is available in two variants – the Cayenne’s 250 kW (340 hp), three-litre turbo engine delivers 29 kW (40hp) more than the previous model, while the 2.9-litre engine in the Cayenne S brings it up to 324 kW (44 hp).
3. It's a family-friendly SUV and more
This may be a family-friendly SUV, but it takes a lot from the iconic 911 sports car – its on-road capabilities include all-wheel drive as standard, Porsche’s 4D chassis control, three-chamber air suspension, the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control electronic roll stabilisation system and a newly developed surface coated brake as well.
4. Slick taillights
Sad to see her leave, but nice to watch her go – the rear apron of the car is new, and while the LED lights that connect both taillights has been seen on the Panamera, it IS new to the Cayenne. So slick!
5. It's already open for pre-booking
The car is only available in third quarter of the year, but it is already open for pre-booking – head to Porsche’s centres in Glenmarie, Sungai Besi and Penang to register.
