Melbourne is known for its unpredictable weather, but no one could have foreseen its volatility would extend to the result at Albert Park today. It was meant to be a complete McLaren victory party, but local bayside boy Oscar Piastri’s spin off the track on lap 44 meant compatriot Lando Norris stood alone on the champion’s podium, accompanied by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Mercedes’ George Russell in second and third place, respectively.

The 2025 Australian F1 also marked the start of a new decade-long partnership with Louis Vuitton, which designed the Grand Prix trophy trunk and showcased an unprecedented presence on Albert Park’s track barriers and signage.
With record attendance reported for the season’s first race — totaling 465,498 fans, up 13,000 from last year — all indicators point to stronger growth and rising popularity. It seems Louis Vuitton also emerges victorious when it comes to savvy partnerships and winning collaborations.
