The motto — Living Together, Designing Together, For the Future — of the Women’s Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka in Kansai, Japan, celebrates the role of women and their potential in shaping coming times. Cartier, the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition and the Japanese government have partnered to bring this space to the public from April 13 to Oct 13.

Designed by architect Yuko Nagayama, the structure premiered at Expo 2020 Dubai, and has been repurposed for this second instalment, demonstrating Cartier’s commitment to sustainability. It will serve as a centre to highlight the role of ladies in fostering equality, guiding new generations towards a life of harmony and success, while driving progress on a global scale. Within the building, past achievements are upheld, new aspirations are championed, and the groundwork is laid for a tomorrow in which diverse individuals may thrive and unite to achieve their full potential.

Beautiful inside and out, the Kumiko-inspired façade will present the works of filmmaker Naomi Kawase; landscaper Toshiya Ogino; artists Es Devlin, Mélanie Laurent, Hiro Chiba and Mariko Mori; and fashion designer Chitose Abe. Embodying the cooperative spirit of the Women’s Pavilion, they contribute their expertise, talents and fruits of their labour to the showcase.

The WA space on the second floor will serve as a community hub where panels, exhibitions and conversations will be held, focusing on the topics of nature, business and technology, education and policy, arts and culture, philanthropy and roles and identities. People are invited to join the conversation alongside activists and experts, while enjoying a thought-provoking experience to appreciate how women influence the world.
