Supreme collaborates with luggage brand giant RIMOWA

German functionality with New York swag.

In a striking collaboration, American streetwear label Supreme has partnered premium luggage brand Rimowa to come up with a series of logo-centric cases. The designs in metallic black and red bring a refreshing rework to the brand’s iconic Topas suitcase, the signature vertical grooves of which — first introduced in 1950 — draw inspiration from the exterior of an aircraft. The collaboration is part of a new vision to modernise and steer the legacy brand towards a more experiential and trendier image. Other strategies include pop-up stores, integrating technology into its suitcases and creating a one-stop-shop experience for travellers who visit their stores.

This partnership certainly hits the right note. Launched online as well as in selected stores in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris and Tokyo, the Supreme X Rimowa luggage is lightweight and fire-resistant, and comes in the carry-on 45L size (US$1,600) and 82L size (US$1,800).
