People are more than willing to go on trips with friends and family to make up for lost time due to the lockdowns, and many are happy to spend on good accommodation and exciting adventures, which ultimately become the determining factors for a great holiday experience.
The hospitality industry, which was badly affected by Covid-19, has seen positive recovery, and hotels and resorts the world over have been upping their game to appeal to hundreds of thousands of eager travellers. The same can be said for many establishments in Malaysia. The World Travel Awards (WTA) recently identified Tune Hotel Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA-KLIA2) and The Chow Kit – An Ormond Hotel, as trailblazers in hospitality.

Tune Hotel KLIA-KLIA2 was named Best Airport Hotel 2023 in two categories for Asia and Malaysia, trouncing acclaimed international contenders such as Grand Hyatt Incheon, Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi and Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott. This year marks the fourth year that Tune has received recognition from WTA since 2019, underscoring the brand’s commitment to excellence and its consistent delivery of exceptional service.
Meanwhile, The Chow Kit – An Ormond Hotel in KL was named Malaysia’s Best Boutique for the third consecutive year, following its grand victory at the Luxury Awards Asia Pacific, where it was picked one of the best city hotels in Malaysia by Travel + Leisure magazine last June. Starting operations the year before the pandemic, The Chow Kit quickly rose to the top, being crowned Best Hotel Renovation & Restoration and Best Visual Identity at the 2021 Ahead Awards, alongside industry bigwigs such as Aman Resorts, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and Capella Hotel Group.
