Flying through Changi Airport this month? Here’s how to make the most of your down time during your layover. Travel retail giant DFS is organising the inaugural edition of The Craft Festival until Oct 31, offering travellers an opportunity to taste over 73 brands of craft gin, whisky and beer.
Taking place across the departure and arrival halls of Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4, the complimentary tastings will feature an assortment of brands including the newly-released Tanglin Gin (the first Singaporean gin infused with orchid essence), blended malt whisky Copper Dog from Speyside region of Scotland, new-to-market English gin Whitley Neil, and a selection of the country’s award-winning Arhchipelago brews and Freemantle’s famous Little Creatures.
Capitalising on the growing love of craft beers and burgeoning craft cocktail movement in Asia, the festival also allows travellers to get up close with brand ambassadors and even specialist distillers every weekend.
“Every [alcohol] festival [in Singapore] introduces 10 to 15 new products, 50% of which are always either Changi-first, Asiafirst or DFS exclusive," says Brooke Supernaw, group senior vice president of sprits, wine, tobacco, food and gifts at DFS, in a Straits Times report.
All the brands showcased during the festival will be for sale in-store and sold on iShop-Changi, Changi Airport Group’s commerce platform.
