Bell & Ross sauntered into new territory in 2019 when it embraced the urban landscape as part of its horological aesthetics with the BR 05. Since then, the rush and glamour of modern metropolises have become a regular part of its look book.
This year, the model takes on a precious expression with the BR 05 Diamond. The bedazzled edition mirrors its architectural inspiration with its arresting circle-in-a-square steel case, the iconic geometric layout that is core to the identity of Bell & Ross. The contrasting utility and avant-gardism that shapes cities is reflected here in the 172 diamonds set within the steel bezel, with the gemstones weighing an impressive 0.88 carats.
A monochromatic palette on the dial, featuring white applique numerals and metal skeletonised hands filled with Super-LumiNova against a black sunray backdrop, sets the stage for more stones to shine. Eleven diamonds take the place of indices around the dial’s periphery while a small date occupies the 3 o’clock position. And just as capitals worldwide offer a plethora of opportunities, bracelet choices here are flexible, from a black rubber strap or a satin-polished steel bracelet to a luxury steel version studded with 218 diamonds.
With hundreds of icy stones exercising their pull across the façade, it would take some serious effort to tear the eyes away and flip the watch over to view the BR-CAL.321 calibre visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. Then again, why strew a timepiece with glittery stars if not to arrest attention?
