Make no bones about the new BR 03 Cyber — this skeletonised Bell & Ross commands a space in your watch closet.
Without distorting the key identity that characterises the BR 03, the maison has carefully combined hallmark elements of the model with the Cyber collection’s graphic and forward-looking codes. Co-founder and creative director Bruno Belamich, who worked on redefining reality with faceted 3D designs, has described this project as “questioning our relationship to speed, sound and light”.
The watch’s charm can be observed in detail through the lines making up the case. Its facetting mimics the structures of a stealth aircraft, with their sharp-edged fuselages boasting the distinctive technical feature of reflecting waves. In fact, this is how spy planes, drones and strategic bombers become undetectable to radar. To push its “invisible” concept further, Bell & Ross has chosen an openwork dial, peeling back the layers to provide an uninhibited view of the mechanical self-winding movement, BR-CAL.383 calibre.
Limited to 500 pieces, the BR 03 Cyber sports a definitive bold shade that stands out even if it is tucked under a French cuff or a bright jacket when you wear it to your next festive gathering. All eyes will be on the 42mm by 43.7mm case, crafted in ceramic, the same cutting-edge material used to decorate the watch’s twelve metallic indices and logo, treated to be glossy black under the surface of an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
