Japanese Film Festival 2019: Brave Father Online
As part of Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur’s (JFKL) Japanese Film Festival 2019 (JFF), Golden Screen Cinemas will screen nationwide a variety of acclaimed titles, including Brave Father Online, a charming movie about familial bonds inspired by Japanese TV drama, Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light. The movie centres on a family whose workaholic and distant father, Akira, who on the brink of a big promotion, suddenly retires. His son, Akio, remembers playing Final Fantasy with his father when he was young, so he gifts him a copy of Final Fantasy XIV and befriends him online as an anonymous player. Akio hopes to get to know his father better but finds out more than he expected. See here for the full film list and dates.

The Millennials
This exhibition brings together 14 Gen-Y artists. As Malaysia Day draws near, these young artists share their concerns, hopes and fears about Malaysia Baru as well as their observations of economic, political and societal issues faced by Malaysians today. Conceptualised and curated by Harni Jonet, this exhibition acts as an expressive platform that allows the older generation to view Malaysia through the eyes of the country’s future leaders.
