Porsche Malaysia, represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance, kicked off its 15-year anniversary celebrations with the local launch of the new 911, marking the latest generation of the Stuttgart-based marque’s most iconic sports car. The two newest variants – the 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera 4 GTS – were unveiled during a commemorative public roadshow at The Exchange TRX on April 11.
“This is a proud moment for all of us at Sime, thanks to the continued trust and support from our long-standing partner, Porsche. We’ve been representing the brand in Malaysia for 15 years now, and it’s been a truly remarkable journey,” remarked Datuk Jeffri Salim Davidson, Group CEO of Sime Darby. The company’s Auto Performance CEO, Christopher Hunter, further shared, “With the Cayenne as a popular choice among sports car fans, we’ve enabled more Malaysian families to become part of the vibrant Porsche community. Looking ahead, our ambition is to continue this upward trajectory, accelerating dreams for all Porsche owners in Malaysia.”

The latest iteration of the signature sports car is lighter, more powerful, and more efficient, featuring an impressive T-Hybrid system with a newly developed electric exhaust gas turbocharger capable of producing 398 kW (a 45 kW improvement over its predecessor) and 610 Nm of torque. The 4 GTS' enhanced suspension offers greater flexibility, stability, and driving precision. Externally, both models feature refined cosmetic updates, including a redesigned light strip with an integrated arc and “Porsche” logo on the rear, along with aerodynamic improvements that eliminate the front driving lights in favor of larger cooling vents.

Also debuted at the event were the locally assembled Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé and Taycan Turbo GT. A display wall showcasing the brand’s most notable milestones in Malaysia, alongside the Sime Motors Racing Team 911 GT3 Cup Car currently competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, highlighted the manufacturer’s growing presence and enduring motorsport DNA.
