While it is true that you can’t test drive Porsche’s new Panamera right now owing to the Movement Control Order, you certainly can consider it should you be shopping for a new car — especially if you are in the market for a vehicle that combines the performance of a sports car with the comfort of an exclusive saloon.
While the design of the new Panamera has undergone a few choice upgrades, it is the engine that deserves mention here. Featuring the familiar 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine, the car generates an output of 243kW (330 PS) and a maximum torque of 450Nm, accelerating from 0kph to 100kph in 5.4 seconds. Top speed is 270kph, allowing a combined experience of sitting in an exclusive saloon and a sports car for four.
The coasting function of the eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (the carmaker’s proprietary double transmission), which is activated in normal driving mode and already part of predecessor models, has also been improved, further enhancing driving comfort and efficiency.

Porsche offers the Panamera with a plethora of powertrain options, including a hybrid setup and a twin-turbo V-8. Cargo space is plentiful under the fastback’s rear hatch, and the interior will accommodate four adults comfortably, especially the long-wheelbase Executive models.
Pricing for the new Panamera starts from RM1,026,735 with sales tax exemptions extended to December.
