Fashion e-retailer Zalora is expanding its product line to more than just trendy clothing. The company has introduced an Essential Supplies category onsite and in-app to deliver basic necessities and home essentials to support the community during the pandemic.
Personal care and hygiene products as well as pharmaceuticals and food are available in the assortment, including hand sanitisers, face masks, cleaning products, health supplements and snacks. Malaysians will be able to access more than 3,000 items from the safety of their homes and reduce the number of trips to the store for these products.
Additionally, purchases with three items or more will receive a complimentary hand sanitiser.
Working with partners such as Big Pharmacy, P&G, Unilever, Nestle and Colgate-Palmolive, the e-retailer will continue adding to the Essential Supplies category and include a more diverse range of products in time.
Currently, Zalora is utilising its fulfilment centre to manage the sorting, packing and delivering process of its new offerings. Its safety measures and workplace procedures have also been heightened to ensure optimum cleanliness, with the use of protective gear and increased sanitisation. Health screenings and social distancing are also practised to minimise risk of exposure to the virus.
Apart from that, Zalora is also working to assist volunteer relief organisation Mercy Malaysia in fundraising to support frontliners and vulnerable communities.
A special tab is available on the homepage of both the site and app for customers who want to donate to the organisation. The options range from RM20 to RM1,000 and the funds will be used to provide food packs for families, personal protective equipment for frontliners or be pooled to purchase supplies.
