IWC Schaffhausen, owned by Compagnie Financière Richemont, is marking a milestone this year as the luxury Swiss watch manufacturer celebrates its 150th anniversary and the launch of its Jubilee Collection. Adding more cheer to the commemoration, the Maison has also welcomed four-time Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper as a new brand ambassador at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH).
Cooper, who made playing a party animal look effortless in the Hangover trilogy, has shown tremendous range in his film career. He was nominated for his first Academy Award in 2012 for his leading role alongside actress Jennifer Lawrence in the movie Silver Linings Playbook, and again in 2014 for a supporting role in the highly entertaining ‘70s crime romp American Hustle. Cooper is much lauded on stage too as he portrayed the physically afflicted eponymous hero of Bernard Pomerance’s play, The Elephant Man. His electrifying performance earned him a Tony nomination.
Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, is excited to collaborate with the multitalented and multilingual (have you listened to him speak French?) actor, “We’re happy to welcome Bradley Cooper to our exclusive circle of brand ambassadors. With his pursuit of quality and creativity, he’s a perfect match for IWC, a brand which in the course of its 150-year history has continued to renew itself and delight people the world over with its passion for handcrafted watchmaking.”
This October, Cooper will be making his directorial debut with A Star is Born, an American musical romantic drama he also stars, together with Lady Gaga, Sam Elliott and Andrew Dice Clay.
