Following his success as a rock musician, singer, songwriter, producer and actor, Lenny Kravitz was named the brand global ambassador for esteemed Swiss watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre recently, joining The Queen’s Gambit’s lead actress Anya Taylor-Joy. “With his artistry, inventiveness and ability to transcend genres, Lenny epitomises Jaeger-LeCoultre’s values and style,” says Catherine Rénier, the CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre.
A natural fit for the brand, the 59-year-old star has been a watch enthusiast since he was young, as he was introduced to chronographs by his father. His familiarity with timepieces makes him appreciate the high level of craftsmanship, design and function in Jaeger-LeCoultre watches — all qualities he resonates strongly with.
“Beyond the function of a watch, style is very important — how it looks and the way it fits on your wrist. You have to really connect with it,” he says. “My Jaeger-LeCoultre pieces feel like they have always been there — they blend with me and their style is absolutely timeless. You can really make these watches your own and when you want to change the mood, change the vibe, they always fit. It’s as if they become one with you.”
Kravitz was recently awarded the Fashion Icon accolade by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, a recognition for his nonchalant elegance and fashion-forward styles. He brings with him a spirit of curiosity and constant exploration in his creative endeavours, whether as a singer, actor, designer or photographer.
At the core of this partnership is Kravitz’s unique sense of style and artistic vision. He will be promoting and expanding the reach of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s products to a wider audience. For a start, he sported the Reverso while performing Calling All Angels during the In Memoriam segment at the 2023 Oscars.
