The manufacture has announced the newest addition to its elite coterie of AP Houses with its latest outpost in Singapore, located in the beloved Bar and Billiard room of the Raffles Hotel. This grand temple draws on both Audemars Piguet’s story and origins while incorporating a highly local touch, inviting watch enthusiasts, novices or simply curious visitors to dive into the distinctive experiences in-store. The houses, which are situated in some of the world’s greatest cities, conceptualise how the brand’s founders would live in the present day, globetrotting and spreading their love for beautiful timepieces.
The 1,000 sq m oasis is an ultra-contemporary living space with a strategic combination of communal and private areas. Muted green interiors recall both the verdant forests of the maker’s home in Le Brassus, Switzerland, and the Lion City’s reputation for lush gardens, while still evoking the man-made beauty of AP’s craft in the employment of gilded accents, wood and stone. Tall Norfolk Pine trees stand in the corners of the Raffles’ setup, while stonework inspired by the Jura Mountains and generous washes of natural light breathe an exquisitely airy energy into the ambience.
Guests are also invited to peruse a selection of curated pieces — including early pocket watches and more recent releases — from the horologer in the form of three watch totems meant to illustrate its history. A commanding wall at the centre of the house focuses visitors’ attention on the timepieces of today, with consultants on hand to help them explore these woks of art firsthand.
This venue also features the first-ever AP Café, which will serve a unique menu of Swiss dishes with a local persuasion, celebrating the island’s gastronomy. “With the city’s renowned food culture as the perfect backdrop, AP Café blends Swiss heritage with Singaporean flair, offering a unique culinary experience,” says Audemars Piguet CEO Ilaria Resta.
