Twenty-two-year-old Max Verstappen, the youngest race-winner in Formula 1 history, was behind the wheel when the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing RB16 car made its track debut in February at the Silverstone Circuit in the UK.
The dashing charger completed a series of planned runs, whizzing around the circuit in a blue, red and yellow blur — classic Red Bull colours used on Tag Heuer’s second commemorative F1 timepiece with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing since the start of their partnership in 2016.

Conceived in close collaboration with the F1 team, the sleek 43mm special edition chronograph is youthful, easy to read and undeniably sporty. The deep blue hue coats the watch’s sunray-brushed dial, toothed aluminium-fixed bezel and enlarged tachymeter scale, which also features silver and red accents. Sweeping over the dial are white Super-LumiNova hour and minute hands and a striking yellow lacquered pointer for the chronograph seconds.
But what enhances the overall aesthetic of the model is really the three black azurage patterned counters, which evokes the texture of a race track. Coupled with a stainless steel bracelet, inclusive of a drivers’ extension to fit the watch over a racing suit and a steel screw-down case engraved with the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing team logo, the quartz watch is fit for F1 legends.

Tough enough for pros, the watch is highly shock resistant and water resistant to 200 meters. It resonates with the Swiss luxury watchmaker’s “Don’t Crack Under Pressure” motto, having endured more than 60 quality control tests.
Tag Heuer’s Formula 1 collection is the only series where the dial is emblazoned with a coloured Tag Heuer shield. Similar to other watches in the collection, the 2020 edition also comes in a handsome collectors’ box.
