The art of dance serves as a muse for crafting jewellery by infusing designs with elegance, fluidity, expressiveness, opulence and a touch of timeless tradition. The result is often a collection of exquisite pieces that capture the artistry and beauty of dance in wearable form.
Van Cleef & Arpels seamlessly blends beauty, luxurious craftsmanship and dance through the creation of corps de ballet, an extension of its 2007 series of high jewellery clips. These clips capture the grace, delicacy and movement of ballet through meticulously crafted silhouettes that are enhanced with gold and gemstones.
The maison unveils 10 ballerina clips, each honouring classical ballets and legendary ballerinas. Inspired by iconic performances such as Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty and The Firebird, these figures boast intricately designed costumes finished off with exquisite precious stones.
Leveraging its exceptional craftsmanship, Van Cleef & Arpels sculpts each piece carefully by hand from green wax, allowing for a three-dimensional understanding of the clip’s form. The wax is then transformed into gold through meticulous hand-finishing and polishing; and, finally, set with carefully chosen gemstones to add radiance or a hint of colour.
Through these creations, Van Cleef & Arpels continues to tell a timeless tale of artistry and sophistication that dances at the intersection of jewellery and ballet. Bravo!
