While crystal healing is believed to have been pioneered by the ancient Sumerians, belief in the spiritual potency of precious minerals has been a part of many cultures across history. To this day, the intrinsic energy of these treasures heightens their value beyond the aesthetic, making for a truly meaningful and resonant material. It is only fitting, then, that rebel watchmaker Hublot has turned to the potent flavour of stone dials in its latest collaboration with The Hour Glass, the Classic Fusion Elements II Special Edition.
This colourful reimagining of its signature design from 1980, which was inspired by the maison’s namesake (“hublot” is French for a ship’s porthole), loyally honours its philosophy of fusion by seamlessly integrating the beauty of nature with man-made modernity in these unique timepieces.
From this series emerges five new dial variants that showcase the mineral intricacies of natural stones: the deep grey Lunar Meteorite, which represents celestial connection to the mystic moon; pastel Pink Jasper, associated with tranquillity and emotional balance granted by Earth’s nurturing forces; brilliant Turquoise, a talisman of protection and wisdom known for its calming oceanic hue; Sodalite, a rich indigo stone with white veining symbolising truth and introspection; and resplendent Nephrite Jade, revered for ushering in prosperity, vitality and longevity.
These exquisite pieces feature a 42mm by 10.4mm titanium case with 18-carat gold accents in the crown and H-shaped bezel screws, with each breathtaking variation limited to an exclusive 10 pieces. Available only at The Hour Glass boutiques in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
