Jin of BTS made a remarkable return from military service as he showed up at a fan meeting in Seoul the day after being discharged to commemorate the group’s 11th anniversary on June 13. Then, he was appointed South Korea’s official representative for the Paris 2024 torch relay, carrying it around the Louvre Museum.

Through all his post-enlistment public appearances, fans and fashion aficionados were excited to find out luxury brands the 31-year-old would be representing as ambassador since his teammates had individually signed with various fashion and jewellery houses during his absence.

An announcement by Gucci early this month put an end to speculations when the pop star was revealed as its latest global ambassador on social media, accompanied by vibrant portraits of Jin sporting ensembles from the label’s Spring/Summer 2025 menswear collection. Gucci creative director Sabato De Sarno says, “His warm and kind personality is truly magnetic, and his style is simply unique. He is a generous and extraordinary artist who is able to move people with his music, which makes us even more honoured to share this journey with him.”

Jin and Gucci are quite a refreshing pair. While the fashion behemoth is known for its vibrant and flamboyant creations, the oldest member of BTS is praised for his ability to pull off an understated and casual style effortlessly. What they have in common, though, is their audacity to experiment with bold designs and looks. “Gucci is an iconic brand with a long-standing heritage and modernity. It is meaningful and thrilling to be a part of such a house,” says the singer.

To further strengthen its position in the Korean market, the Italian maison will be launching a “Gucci Cultural Month” project in Seoul, beginning Oct 15. Paying homage to the nation’s culture and heritage, the initiative will feature four key artists whose exceptional efforts have brought local arts to the international level.
